In this short lecture will be presented an overview of the general state of art of the world of High Performance Computing, focusing on the present technologies and with a glimpse of the future.
CINECA, national consortium aimed at providing HPC resources for academical and industrial research, will discuss the infrastructure that can be made available to their users, with a major focus on Leonardo, the pre-exascale cluster ranked among the first ten most performant supercomputers in the World.
Speaker
Antonio De Nicola – CINECA HPC
I earned my Master’s in Chemistry and completed a PhD in 2014, focusing on molecular modeling of biological systems and composite materials. My expertise lies in the computational study of soft-matter systems, where I developed Coarse-Graining models and enhanced Molecular-Dynamics code for particle-field interactions. From 2018 to 2021, I served as an Assistant Professor at Yamagata University, leading a corporate project with Borealis AG to optimize polymer production through computational methods. In 2021, I returned to Italy to join Scuola Superiore Meridionale in Naples as a researcher. Since April 2024, I have been part of the CINECA family in the HPC group.
