Application

The 3rd CINI Summer School on High-Performance Computing, in collaboration with CINECA, is committed to selecting exceptional applicants who are enthusiastic about broadening their expertise in High-Performance Computing (HPC) and related methodologies.

TARGET AUDIENCE

The target audience is intermediate graduate students, which includes Master’s students, Ph.D students, and early-stage Postdoc, engineers and outstanding 3rd year Bachelor’s students.

The school welcomes everyone regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, or religion. Applicants will be evaluated on their CV.

DEADLINES

  • Applications start: January 1, 2025

  • Applications end: April 11, 2025

  • Acceptance: April 18, 2025

  • Enrollment and fee payment: April 30, 2025

  • School: June 16-20, 2025

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants have to meet the following requirements:

  • Good knowledge of C/C++, familiarity with the UNIX/Linux OS and the basic programming environment tools (terminals, editors, compilers).

  • Experience with HPC Technology will be considered a plus.

FEES

  • 350 euros for students
  • 500 euros for professionals

The fee includes lectures, material, coffee breaks, lunches, and social events.

How to apply

To begin the selection and become part of the HPC 2025 Summer School, complete the form by 11 April 2025. FILL IN THE FORM.

Applicants will be evaluated on their CV.

  • Download the application form file and fill in the data.
    Save the application as pdf file (the file name should be name_surname_application.pdf).

    with the subject: Application for HPC Summer School 2024 – Name Surname
  • Attach to the email the application form (pdf version);
    Your CV (pdf format – 1 page – the file name should be name_surname_cv.pdf);
  • Abstract of your research activity (pdf format – Up to 200 words – the file name should be name_surname_research_activity.pdf).

Only emails that follow the above-mentioned constraints will be considered.

The procedure for the payment will be communicated via email to selected applicants.
The payment module for Italian attendees (public institutions) will be available soon.

Financial support

Outstanding applicants may be eligible for fee waivers.

Other information

All participants were awarded a certificate in recognition of their successful completion of the school.

Upon request, the Organizing Committee is prepared to provide support letters for selected students requiring a visa.

Privacy policy

Policy on the processing of personal data under article 13 of Regulation EU 2016/679, the “General Data Protection Regulation” (hereinafter GDPR), the CINI – Consorzio Interuniversitario Nazionale per l’Infomatica shall process your personal data exclusively to the extent that it is necessary in the performance of its institutional tasks, and in particular in order to manage the subscription to conference and/or event selected. 

The processing of personal data is done by the processor for the performance of a task carried out in the public interest (point (e), Article 6(1) GDPR), aimed at the development and spread of knowledge and critical thinking, as stated in its own Charter. 

The provision of personal data is necessary to manage subscriptions to conferences or events selected. Failure to provide such data involves the impossibility to participate in it. 

The processing of personal data shall be carried out by automated means exclusively by authorized staff. Personal data shall be processed lawfully, fairly and transparently, in a manner that is adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary for relation to the purposes for which they are processed.
The controller will not transfer personal data to other subjects. Personal data are stored for the time strictly necessary to carry out the procedure of subscription and the participation in the event.
The data subject shall exercise the rights referred to in article 15 et seq. of the GDPR and, in particular, the right of access to and rectification, erasure or completion of personal data, restriction of processing of personal data concerning the data subject or the right to object to processing.
The data subject shall maintain the right to lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, according to article 77 of the GDPR.
